Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information this website may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors.
Current site behavior. Based on the current site code, most signup flows either open your own email client or post limited contact data to a signup endpoint. The site code is not currently designed to run advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts, but ordinary hosting, CDN, and server logs may still exist.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the public Bitcoin Attestation Network website and the pages hosted under the same site experience. It does not govern separate products, software clients, repositories, node software, wallets, or third-party services except to the extent they expressly link to and adopt this policy.
2. Information we may collect
Information you provide
Name, email address, location, interest selections, and message contents if you choose to submit a signup form, open a prefilled email, or contact us directly.
Technical information
IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, referring pages, and other basic request metadata commonly generated by web servers, CDNs, or hosting providers.
Communications
Records of emails, support requests, waitlist messages, and similar communications you voluntarily send to us.
Operational data
Limited anti-abuse, uptime, and troubleshooting information generated when the site is served or when a form submission endpoint is used.
3. How forms and signup flows currently work
At the time of this policy version, site code shows two primary patterns:
- many pages open your local email client using a prefilled
mailto:link, which means the resulting message is sent through your own email provider rather than directly through site storage; and - some landing pages may send form data to a site signup endpoint for delivery to
info@bitcoinattestationnetwork.orgthrough website infrastructure or email-delivery tooling.
Those flows may change over time. If they do, this policy may be updated.
4. How we use information
- to respond to inquiries, waitlist requests, partnership outreach, or developer interest;
- to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the site;
- to detect abuse, fraud, spam, or service misuse;
- to evaluate demand for products, documentation, or community programs;
- to comply with legal obligations, enforce site terms, and protect rights and safety.
5. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
Based on the current public site code reviewed for this policy, the site is not intentionally configured to use advertising cookies, behavioral profiling scripts, or third-party analytics tags. That said, hosting or CDN providers may still create ordinary technical logs or use essential infrastructure-level cookies needed to serve requests, prevent abuse, or support site functionality.
If tracking or analytics practices materially change, this policy should be updated before or when the change is deployed.
6. When we may share information
We may share limited information:
- with hosting, CDN, email-delivery, anti-abuse, or similar service providers acting on our behalf;
- if required by law, legal process, regulation, or a good-faith safety or rights-protection need;
- in connection with a merger, financing, restructuring, sale, or transfer of relevant business assets;
- with your direction or consent.
We do not state in this policy that we sell personal information for advertising purposes.
7. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including communications follow-up, security, compliance, recordkeeping, and dispute resolution. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the purpose for which it was collected.
8. Security
No website or transmission method is completely secure. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information involved, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices
| Choice | What it means |
|---|---|
| Do not submit forms | You can browse informational pages without sending signup details. |
| Use your own email client | On pages using mailto:, you control whether to send the message and through which provider. |

10. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not intend to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this public site experience.
11. International use
If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States or in other jurisdictions where service providers operate.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version here. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to info@bitcoinattestationnetwork.org.
